Altea
This
select, beautiful and authentic Spanish seaside town is ideal for visitors
of all ages.
Altea has one of the largest and most famous churches on the Costa Blanca, which sits at the peak of the old town and dominates the whole landscape. In the old town with its whitewashed buildings and narrow streets you will find many high quality restaurants and also art, craft and jewellery shops offering excellent quality and value. The old town (like Altea as a whole) is beautifully kept and is ideal to spend an afternoon wondering around or an evening enjoying the cuisine and artistic atmosphere with the sea on one side and the mountains on the other.
The
seafront and beach area offers excellent sunbathing and safe swimming.
There are many good restaurants and bars along the promenade with a
wide variety to cater for all tastes; traditional Spanish, French, Indonesian
and Italian. There are further beaches within walking distance from
the main town.
Water sports and boat trips are available from the Port, and this is further complimented by the facilities at Greenwich Marina some 15 minutes away where you will see fabulous yachts. A vibrant nightlife and all manner of activities can be found in Benidorm. The other towns of the Northern Costa Blanca, Calpe, Moraira, Javea and Denia are also well worth exploring. Sitting
behind the town are the mountains of the Sierra Bernia, a fabulous sight
and an area for hill walking, climbing and nature watching. Take a trip
inland to the beautiful mountain villages such as Polop and Guadalest,
you will not be disappointed.
This friendly holiday destination with its great atmosphere offers a wide
range of activities. These include golf, sailing, swimming, scuba diving,
water skiing, wind surfing, cycling, tennis, jet ski, or quieter pursuits,
snorkeling, fishing, bird watching, walking and horse riding all of
which makes this a very popular choice with holiday makers of all ages.
